Back to Resident Life A Care Partnership

Family Integration

We do not just admit a resident; we embrace their entire family. We consider families to be vital members of our interdisciplinary care team.

Open Doors, Open Communication

Transitioning a loved one into a long-term care facility is a monumental emotional shift. We aim to remove the institutional barriers that keep families alienated.

Family Councils & Care Planning

Upon admission, and frequently thereafter, families are formally invited to care plan meetings involving the DON, Social Services, and Therapy to review the medical trajectory and ensure goals align.

Multigenerational Events

We host summer BBQs, holiday banquets, and family nights designed specifically so grandchildren and extended family feel welcome spending hours at the facility.

Emotional Support & Resources

Caregiver burnout is real, and the grief associated with watching a progressive condition unfold is heavy. You are not alone on this journey.

  • Monthly Support Groups

Facilitated by our Social Services team, where families of residents can connect, share advice, and offer mutual support.

  • Educational Seminars

Regular sessions explaining disease progression, Medicaid planning, and recognizing the signs of changing medical needs.

  • 1-on-1 Social Work Guidance

Our clinical social workers are always available to help families process complex decisions regarding palliative care and end-of-life planning.

Seamless Communication

We believe in total transparency. You shouldn't have to chase down a nurse simply to find out how your loved one's day went.

Direct Unit Lines

Direct phone access to the nursing station on your loved one's specific neighborhood, avoiding endless switchboards.

Virtual Visits

Our therapeutic recreation staff joyfully facilitates FaceTime or Zoom calls to ensure you stay connected from afar.

Proactive Updates

Immediate phone calls from the physician or charge nurse for any medication adjustment or change in clinical baseline.

"When my husband moved to Beechwood, I finally got to stop being his full-time nurse, and I got to just be his wife again."
