Muscle Weakness

Often starts in the hands, feet, or limbs. You may notice dropping things or tripping frequently.

Speech and Swallowing Difficulties

Slurred speech (dysarthria) and difficulty chewing or swallowing (dysphagia) can be early indicators.

Muscle Cramps and Twitches

Fasciculations (twitches) in the arms, shoulders, or tongue are common alongside muscle cramps.

Changes in Voice

A noticeably nasal or harsh voice tone can develop due to muscle weakness in the vocal cords.
